Game Summaries:
Cranford VFW2 21, Awnings Galore 6 
The Cranford VFW offense came alive at Warinanco Park as they convincingly defeated Awnings Galore 21-6.  Every batter in the Cranford lineup scored at least once and had at least one hit.  Kevin Carroll led the attack going 4 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs.  Pat Cedola (3 for 4, R, 2RBI) and Tom Rutkowski (3 for 3, 2R, 2RBI) had three hits each.  Marty Joyce (1 for 4, R) stroked a triple and Ken Murray (1 for 4, 2R, RBI) doubled for the V-men. Also, key contributions came from Dave Woodruff (2 for 4, R, 2RBI) and George Merlo (2 for 3, 2R, 2RBI).  After a long weather-related layoff, Awnings bats and gloves were a bit rusty as they tallied more errors than base hits.  The lone bright spot was Tom Pasko, going 2 for 2 with a double, 2 runs and an RBI.
Kenilworth VFW 15, Yogi's Boys 8 
An undermanned Yogi's Boys were defeated 15-8 by the Kenilworth VFW in this A Division matchup at Linden Memorial Field.  Hitting for Yogi's were Rick Wilson, Joe DePierro, Frank DeLuca and Steve Ferro, who each had two hits.   
DeBellis Associates 10, The Avengers 7 
A quick first inning 6 run start by DeBellis Associates told the story of this game as they defeated The Avengers 10-7 at Tremley Point Field.  The Avengers fought back with the help of 3 hits by Mo Fernandez and two each from Tom Connolly, Doc Henley Black and Bill Moore, but ultimately the Avenger rally fell short.
Cranford VFW2 12, The Avengers 4
Every Cranford VFW player registered at least one hit as they outscored The Avengers 12 to 4.  Leading the Vets on offense were Vic Trindade (3 for 4, 3R), David Drechsel (2 for 4, RBI), Gary Schaller (3 for 3, 3R, 2RBI), Jerry Gaeta (2 for 3, 2R), Brian McDermott (2 for 3, R, 4RBI), Ken Murray (H, R), Dave Woodruff (H, R), and George Merlo (H, 2 RBI).  Cranford VFW's defense turned three double plays during the game helping to keep the Avengers' offense off the scoreboard for 5 innings.  On the short side, the Avengers were led by Bob Hoffman (3 for 3) and Anthony Abbaleo, Bill Moore, Steve Landau, Joe Brown and Dave Goodman with 2 hits apiece.
Liberty Lighting Group 14, Awnings Galore 9 
The weather finally cooperated for a beautiful summer's evening at Linden Memorial Field as Liberty Lighting outlasted a determined Awnings squad 14-9. The game saw 5 lead changes, but it was timely hitting and several extra base knocks that allowed LLG to prevail.  Don Miller set the tone with 3 hits including a 2-run HR.  Mike Backus, Lou Balestriere and Rick Regenthal also anchored the offense, each collecting 3 hits.  Rich Pitonzo chipped in by short hopping the fence for an extra base hit in the first inning.  Keith McDede and Rick Lindemann added a couple late inning clutch hits each.  For Awnings the offense was led by Gary Cuttler (2R), Danny Mendoza (2B, R, RBI), Rich Polonitza (R, 3RBI), Mike Carnevale (R) and Carmine Priore (2 for 2, R) who each had two hits while Tom Pasko had a booming first inning home run.
Yogi's Boys 5, Kenilworth VFW 3 
This highly anticipated A Division matchup turned into a highly unusual pitchers duel at Linden Memorial Field as Yogi's Boys defeated the Kenilworth VFW 5-3.  Down 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Yogi's scored three runs and then held on for the victory.  Key hits by Joe Massimino and Joe DePierro and then a sac fly from Anthony Santorelli led the comeback.
Creative Industries Too 6, DeBellis Associates 3 
In this B Division mid-season matchup, Creative Too nipped DeBellis 6-3 at Warinanco Park.  For Creative, Ken Hopper was 3 for 3 and scored twice.  Tony Zarvos, Paul Leso and Andy Coukos each went 2 for 3 on the night.  Ultimately the game was won by superb defensive performances by Paul Leso, Joe Kenny, Bill Doughty and Steve Crystal.
