ROSELLE AMERICAN LEGION 10 |
Pounding out 26 hits, en route to their 20th victory of
the season, every Roadie had a multiple hit game. The contest was close until
the 6th when the winners plated 6 runs. Leading the charge were
Jim Jimenez (5 for 5 and 5 RBI’s), Joe Massimino (home run), with Tony
Williams, Frank Pepe and Keith Gibbons 3 hits each. The Legion had multi-hit
games from John Amato, Jim McCullough, Gene Antonucci and Ed Lubas. |

TOP LINE APPLIANCE 8, LLG/FRENCHY’S 5 |
For the victors, John Rachko and Bob D’Meo had 3 hits each, with
Gary Capaldo, Ron Kulik, Greg Hartnett and Don Montefusco chipping in with 2
hits apiece. For LLG, Willie Jackson had a booming triple in the 7th inning, and
LLG scored 4 runs in the rally, but the comeback fell short as the game ended
with 2 runners on base. |

AWNINGS GALORE 20, CONTACT LENS & VISION 5 |
Mounting a 29 hit attack, Awnings was led by Frank D’Antico 4
for 4, Ray Meigs and Tom Colandro 3 for 3, Bruce Crawford a triple and home
run, with Bob Rahnenfuhrer, Charlie Babela and Brian Granstrand all with 3
hits. Neil Granstrand, Bob Lorincz and Tom Pasko (triple) also had multi-hit
games. The Lensmen, who led 4-0 after one inning, had multi-hit games from
Kerry Gelb and George Merlo. |

Great pitching by Tom Siano, 4 double plays, and an offensive
attach led by Mike DiRienzo and Jeff Villani both 4 for 4, and Keith McDede 3
for 4, sparked the Bar Men. |
