When Harvey speaks, the ACES listen!

ACES WEEKLY MANAGER’S COMMENTS

October 31, 2005

Teammates:

Despite a cold and blustery day, we held our own against a tough opponent, Edgewood Properties.  The difference in both games was the home run ball.  Solid hitting was provided by the three Bobs, Lorincz, Kruse and Perris along with Doug, whose extra base hits kept us in the games.  We seemed to find the double  play combination that we have so sorely needed.  Jerry and John worked well together, with quick hands and quick release to first base.  Pete made a fine catch on a ball that was veering away from him.

I have moved next weeks games at Bicentennial to 10:00.  Hopefully things will warm up by then.  Please let me know if you will be unable to attend.

I have some sad news to share with regard to our former teammate Ed VanPelt. Eddie is in a Trenton hospital in very grave condition. It seems that the cancer has spread to his blood stream and brain.  He is heavily sedated and in and out of consciousness.  I will try to see him today.  I know that your thoughts and prayers will be with him. I will keep you posted.

See you on Saturday!
